Fundraiser raises $3,000 for Universally Accessible Playground
Progressive Dinner Party was formed in 2004 by five active Long Beach residents to
share dinner and wine with friends on the third Sunday of every other month at the home of
a local member. The idea is to contribute the price of an average dinner out to a local cause that benefits children and families. On March 15, Progressive Dinner Party held a fundraiser at the home of Sharon Roberts to raise funds for Long Beach's first Universally Accessible Playground. This playground will allow children with disabilities and able bodied children the opportunity to play together, many for the first time.
Food was provided by Cafe Piccolo and George's Greek Deli. Smart and Final donated the wine. Altogether about 75 community supporters came together to raise $3,000 for the playground. For more about Progressive Dinner Party and thier upcoming events, please visit www.progressivedinnerparty.org.
