Partners of Parks Becomes Lead Charity of 2008 Long Beach ICB Marathon
Partners of Parks has been designated
the lead charity of the 2008 Long Beach ICB Marathon. Partners
is delighted to be involved with one of the most anticipated
and picturesque marathons in the country. “Being a
part of the Long Beach Marathon was a natural fit for us,” said
Partners of Parks Executive Director Diane Wiley. “Our
programs cover parks, beaches and athletics throughout the
city. We are proud to support such a positive event for
all ages and levels to participate.” Wiley refers
to the many ways people may take part in the event. In addition
to the marathon and half marathon, participants have choice
to stroll through a 5K, leisurely enjoy the bike tour, or
volunteer. There is even a kids fun run for the youngsters.
Partners of Parks is forming “Team PoP” to raise
money to support its many diverse programs including a universally
accessible playground and the Municipal Band concert series.
Race participants receive their own web page to share their
achievements with family and friends, as well as receive
donations for Partners.
